Poker Hands - In order from highest to lowest

Royal Flush - Poker hand  Royal Flush

   10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace (Top 5 cards) in the same suit, any suit. A very rare hand, beats all others.

Straight Flush - Poker hand Straight Flush

  Any 5 consecutive cards, of the same suit, any suit. Beats all hands except a Royal Flush. or a higher Straight Flush.

Four of a Kind - Poker hand 4 of a Kind

   Any 4 of the same card, any suit. Beats all hands except a Straight Flush, or Royal Flush (Or a higher 4 of a Kind. - e.g., 4 of a Kind Aces beats 4 of a Kind Jacks.)

Full House - Poker hand Full House

   Three of a Kind + 1 pair - Beats all lower hands, however a higher Full House will take the pot. (Picture describes "(3) Aces full of (2) Kings" - which beats " (3) Kings full of (2) Aces").

Flush - Poker hand Flush

   Any 5 cards of the same suit. Beats any lower hands. The person holding the highest card of the suit will take the pot. The person with the Ace of the suit, making the flush, is "Holding the Nut".

Straight - Poker hand Straight

Any 5 consecutive cards of any suit. Beware the higher straight!

3 of a Kind - Poker hand Three of a Kind

   Any 3 of the same card. Beats one or two pair, however, will lose to a higher 3 of a kind.

Two Pair - Poker hand Two pair

   Having two pair will beat 1 pair, or a high card. Will lose to a higher 2 pair, or above hands.

One Pair - Poker hand One pair

   Matching any two cards. These can either be a "Pocket Pair" or matching a card on the board with your hand. Very common, and can take the pot, but beware higher hands.

High Card - Poker hand High Card

   If nobody at the table is able to make a hand, the person holding the highest card will take the pot. If two or more people hold the same high card (e. g., Ace), then the second pocket card is determined to be the kicker. (AK will win over AQ) High card will take the pot, or the pot may be split.
